Ford Mustang Computer Code Location

Correct Format for Mustang Computer Codes by Year
It is important to correctly identify your Mustang’s ECM Calibration code. There are literally hundreds of codes and it would be impossible and potentially hazardous to your motor to attempt to guess your code. Included are some examples of codes that you might find during these years to help you recognize your car's code.
  • 87-93:
  • Usually 2 Letters and 1 Number
    Example Formats: A3M, A9L, A9P

  • 94-95:
    Usually 2 Letters and 2 Numbers
    Example Formats: H4M3, T4M0, U4P0

  • 96-11:
    Usually 3 letters and 1 Number
    Example Formats: XSH1, CDC3, MDE2

Where to Locate the Mustang Computer Code
  • 87-04:
  • The Mustang computer code on 87-04 Mustangs should be on the passenger side door jam on a rectangular white sticker. Sometimes the sticker comes off, so you will need to look under the passenger side kick panel on the actual computer to get the Mustang computer code.

  • 2005-2010:
    The computer code on 2005-2010 Mustangs is under the hood on the passenger side located on a silver rectangular box.

  • 2010-2011:
